Shipping, Returns, Cancellations & Firearm Transfer Policy

Effective Date: September 10, 2026
Last Updated: September 10, 2026

This policy applies to purchases and transfers conducted through On Target Ventures LLC, d/b/a On Target Guns. By purchasing, ordering, transferring, shipping, or receiving merchandise through On Target Guns, you acknowledge and agree to this Policy.

1. Firearm Sales Are Subject to Final Transfer Approval

Purchasing or paying for a firearm does not guarantee that the firearm can legally be transferred. All transfers are subject to applicable federal, state, and local law.

2. Background Checks

A background check may be required before a firearm can be transferred. Background-check determinations are made by the applicable government or authorized system and are outside the control of On Target Guns.

3. Delayed or Pending Background Checks

If a background check receives a Delayed, Decision Pending, or similar response, the firearm will remain in the possession of On Target Guns.

On Target Guns does not automatically release firearms solely because a statutory or default-proceed period has expired. It is our store policy to wait for a final determination or other resolution acceptable to On Target Guns before releasing the firearm.

4. Denied Background Checks

If a purchaser receives a Denied determination and the firearm cannot legally be transferred, the transaction will be canceled. A 25% restocking fee will be deducted from the applicable firearm purchase amount. The applicable background-check fee is also non-refundable once processed. Other incurred shipping, transfer, special-order, or processing charges may also be non-refundable.

5. Customer Responsibility for Eligibility

The purchaser is responsible for determining whether they are legally eligible to purchase and possess a firearm.

6. Firearms Purchased Online for Local Pickup

Firearms purchased online for pickup at On Target Guns will not be released until all legally required transfer procedures are completed.

7. Firearms Shipped to Another FFL

The purchaser is responsible for selecting a receiving FFL, confirming acceptance, providing accurate FFL information, and paying fees charged by the receiving FFL.

8. Receiving FFL Refuses or Returns a Firearm

If a receiving FFL refuses, cannot complete, or returns a shipment, the customer is responsible for applicable shipping, return-shipping, transfer, processing, and restocking charges.

9. Shipping Charges

Shipping charges are disclosed or calculated during the transaction and are generally non-refundable after shipment unless otherwise required by law.

10. Optional Shipping Insurance

Shipping insurance may be purchased for eligible shipments at a rate of $1.00 per $100 of declared value.

If optional insurance is offered and declined, the customer assumes the risk of loss or damage during shipment to the fullest extent permitted by law and carrier rules. On Target Guns' responsibility for an uninsured shipment ends to the fullest extent permitted by law once the shipment has been properly tendered to and accepted by the carrier.

11. Lost or Damaged Shipments

If insurance was purchased, On Target Guns will reasonably assist with a carrier or insurance claim. Customers should promptly report damage or loss and retain packaging, labels, photographs, and tracking records.

12. Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled only when cancellation remains reasonably possible. Once an order has shipped, entered a regulated process, been specially ordered, been transferred, been submitted for government processing, or incurred non-refundable costs, cancellation may be unavailable or subject to applicable fees.

13. Returns of Firearms

Once a firearm has been legally transferred to the customer, the sale is generally final. Manufacturing defects may be subject to manufacturer warranty procedures.

14. Used Firearms

Unless otherwise stated in writing, used firearms are sold in their existing condition. Customers are encouraged to inspect used firearms before transfer. Normal cosmetic wear is not considered a defect.

15. Ammunition

For safety and liability reasons, ammunition sales are generally final once the ammunition leaves our control, except where otherwise required by law or when On Target Guns determines that an error occurred.

16. Special Orders

Special-order merchandise may be subject to additional cancellation or return restrictions. Deposits, shipping, distributor, manufacturer, processing, and other charges may be non-refundable.

17. NFA Items

Suppressors, silencers, short-barreled firearms, and other NFA items require additional government procedures. Payment does not guarantee approval. Government payments, tax payments, processing charges, trust-related charges, transfer charges, fingerprinting, photographs, and other completed services may be non-refundable to the extent permitted by law.

18. Layaway

Unless different terms are stated in the applicable written agreement, On Target Guns' standard layaway program is 25% down with up to 60 days to complete payment and is available only on eligible in-stock merchandise.

19. Transfers from Other Dealers or Individuals

Customers should not appear for pickup until On Target Guns confirms the firearm has physically arrived, has been properly received into our records, and is ready for the transfer process. Carrier delivery confirmation does not necessarily mean immediate pickup availability.

20. Transfer Fees

Applicable transfer and background-check fees are charged according to the On Target Guns fee schedule in effect when the transfer is processed. Fees may be non-refundable after the applicable service has been performed.

21. Unclaimed or Abandoned Property

Customers are responsible for promptly completing lawful pickup or disposition of merchandise. Storage charges may apply when disclosed or permitted by agreement or law. Property will not be considered abandoned, forfeited, sold, or otherwise disposed of except in accordance with applicable law and any controlling written agreement.

22. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

Customers should contact On Target Guns before initiating a payment dispute. Initiating a chargeback does not eliminate contractual obligations or valid charges. We may provide appropriate transaction documentation to payment processors or financial institutions when responding to disputes.

23. Legal and Regulatory Changes

Firearms laws, shipping restrictions, carrier policies, background-check procedures, and regulatory requirements can change. On Target Guns may modify, delay, refuse, or cancel a transaction when reasonably necessary to comply with law or regulatory requirements.
